Tina is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor, who has been in the field for over 11 years. Tina has specialized in helping individuals regarding anxiety, addiction, co-dependency, relationship troubles and other life stressors associated. Tina believes that no issue is impossible to overcome and that each person can make the changes they want on their journey by taking things one day at a time. Tina stresses that today is the first day of the rest of your life so by treating every day like a new day, you can work towards your goals and dreams.
Tina primarily use a combination of a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy modalities to assist and guide individuals in resolving personal, social and psychological difficulties. Tina also utilizes a strength based approach to help you gain the confidence and motivation required to make permanent changes.Tina has worked in multiple inpatient and outpatient settings assisting individuals with co-occuring disorders and their families. Tina will work to customize a specific treatment plan in order to address any and all concerns. Tina utilizes the various modalities mentioned above to assist clients cope with their struggles, develop healthy boundaries, utilize effective communication skills, problem solve and engage in stress management techniques while doing so. It is Tina's goal to provide an environment that is comfortable, safe and gentle in order for you to be able to open up and deal with some of these challenging topics.
Jennifer Schmitt, LMHC, CCMHC, NCC, CASAC, Reiki Practitioner
Jennifer is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor a National Certified Counselor, and a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor, who has been in the field for over 12 years. Furthermore, Jennifer is also trained as a Reiki Practitioner, to offer energy healing both emotionally and physically. She believes that everyone has their own experiences, which develop, define, and teach us, not only about ourselves but the lives of those around us and the world itself. It is her belief that life often has a way of teaching us what we have either longed for, what we need to learn, or what we can learn, to help us work through difficult times, in order to allow ourselves the ability to love ourselves. It’s through these experiences and difficult times that we become stronger and begin to allow ourselves to heal and become our best possible selves. As Pema Chodron once said, “What we call obstacles are really the way the world and our entire experience teach us where we’re stuck.”
Jennifer has worked in Child and Adult Psychiatric units, in Substance Abuse agencies, and in private practice. Her clinical skills combine several different therapeutic approaches, some of which include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Couples Therapy, Family Therapy, Group Therapy, Integrative Psychotherapy-via Reiki, and Strength Based Therapy, in order to customize her treatment, to develop both a suitable treatment plan and sessions, that are tailored to meet the needs of her clients. Additionally, her sub specialties are working with those who experience depression, anxiety, stress, disorganization-in life and at work, life changes, divorce, relationship issues, family conflicts, substance use and family dynamics, self-esteem, mood disorders, personality disorders, behavioral concerns, social struggles, grief and loss. Therefore, she focuses on assisting her clients to become motivated to make the desired changes in their lives, to develop coping skills, communication skills, and to become more self-aware and confident, enabling them to attain their goals, all the while in the presence of a calming, safe, supportive, and nurturing environment.
